Today I thought I'd share a round-up of some of my recent favorite reads on the internet. It's a mixture of articles, tutorials, and inspiration! It's amazing just how many cool ideas are out there. I hope you enjoy!
Emily Pitts shares her journey into the world of artsy play, along with the journeys of several other scrapbookers. I found this post via an instant message from Emily.
I found this post via a google search for something else. It's a simple and straightforward tutorial for making super cute paper polaroid frames. I'm thinking some patterned paper polaroid frames are going to make their way into my art very soon!
Brenda Pinnick e-mailed a link to this article to the CHA-Designer group, and it really resonated with me. I have fallen prey to the creative booty call more times than I'd like to admit.
Good advice from Amy Tan on how to get words onto your instagram photos. I followed the link from her instagram feed. Though, I suppose I would have found it eventually as she's in my Google Reader.
PS: I use a different app from Amy, but it works just as well! It's called "Brushes."
Make Your Own Ink Pad from a Chalk Pastel
Lori over at Elvie Studio is a creative genius and I subscribe to her blog. I adore her idea for creating a custom ink pad from a chalk pastel!! It's pure genius and one that had me running to my craft room to try it out!

I found this post via Twitter. It's a step-by-step look at how artist Anika Starmer creates her super cool geometric paintings.
An utterly brilliant and totally simple guide from Shannon Hegarty, providing five easy ways to digitally alter the look of the very plainest font around. Of course, you could do all of these techniques with alphabet stickers and/or alphabet stamps! I really like this post about getting rid of both our literal and figurative junk. Something I am actively working on! I have just started reading Jenny's blog. I originally discovered it through the 7×7 charity art auction. Jenny contributed a wonderful piece!
A Stunning Watercolor Speed Painting
Click through the link to see this portrait come together in just about four minutes. My jaw dropped and I watched it twice. Then I broke out my watercolors. So inspiring! Colassal, the blog this appeared on, is a wonderful blog. One of my recent faves, in fact. It's curated by a guy named Christopher and I am fascinated by all the cool art projects he shares. He has a special love for street art and installation, and I do too.
I have long admired Wilna Furstenberg's mixture of paint and product on her scrapbooking pages. Her pages seem so effortlessly inventive. Thus I was delighted to discover this tutorial from her on collaging rub-ons and adding a bit of paint to blend it all together. This tutorial is on the Two Peas in a Bucket blog, but be sure to check out Wilna's personal blog (one of the first blogs I ever bookmarked).
