I'm at my Mom's house armed with my art journal and my new stencils.  I've been busy, working up some samples for CHA.  But because I literally came with only my art journal and my stencils I've been having to use whatever paint supplies are around.  It's always interesting to work with different supplies.

No cosmetic sponges around, so I've been using a cut up kitchen sponge.  It gives a softer, less crisp look to all of my stenciling.  And the paints I'm using are Folk Art paints from Plaid.  I'm a little afraid to guess how long they've been rolling around in the drawer I rescued them from.  But after some persistent shaking of my part they seem to be doing a-okay!

I feel like the page still needs something…maybe some writing?  But I've gotten so used to working in my pages in stages that I think I need to let it sit for a bit.

Hope you're having a great Fourth of July wherever you are and whether you celebrate it as a proper noun or just another day!  We're heading to the ocean today for fireworks, friends, and food!

Thanks for stopping by!
