I had a totally scraptastic weekend! My Mom and I went to the New England SDV (Scrapper's Dream Vacation) for the fourth or fifth year in a row. A ballroom full of ladies (and a few men) scrapping their hearts out. It was a smaller group this year — they said about 50 fewer scrappers — but those who were there, were definitely fanatics! Check it out:
I am always blown away by the amazing set-ups that people bring with them!
This woman made herself a three-sided scrapping room:

It was non-stop scrapping (the room is open 24 hours a day) for three days! I kept myself fueled with diet coke and hot chocolate. If you've never been to a crop weekend, take it from me, glasses are required. By day three, there's no way the contacts are going in!
There were door prizes (Mom and I both won! She got a grungeboard mini album and I got a pair of Tonic scissors!), shopping (4 or 5 different vendors had booths full of scrapbooking supplies), and lots of friendly strangers!
My Mom and I sat with a wonderful group of women! Take a peek at my workspace:
Water jar? Check! Heat Gun? Check! Teflon sheet? Check! What more could a girl want?
I ended up spending the entire weekend working on two projects. Two awesome projects, but two projects. I made a wedding album — my wedding album (about time, eh?) — and a large scale painting. I'm shipping the album to CHA tomorrow, so I can't share it yet. But I'll give you a peek:
I haven't decided what to do with the painting yet. There's something about it that bugs me. So I may put it away for a while and come back to it when I'm ready. But here's a peek:

A few years ago I visit a store where a group crop was going on and I was amazed at all the stuff they carried in for just one day! It looked like the Atlanta Airport. Now it takes 3 trips to the car just to unload my “must have” stuff for a one-day event.

ooh I dont’ think I’d want to drag everything in there. I’d probably drag more paper, scissors, small portable printer, my laptop, paints, heatgun, ooh ooh, it’d be so much fun. I bet the creative energy was great. The sneaks are mean girlie mean! I can’t wait to see the final shots of both pieces. 🙂
