Finally, I wanted to share a random little layout I did last night.
A few days ago I painted this odd circle filled with a floral design. I wanted to use it as the background for a layout, but I just couldn't make it work. So it sat on my desk staring at me.
Last night I was fatigued from creating CHA samples. (Listen, I'm not complaining. I love creating CHA samples. But there's a lot of pressure. You're working with prototypes. They may be the only examples of the product that will be at the show. And every project has to be knock your socks off great. That's a lot of pressure. And I like to experiment, but I feel a little like I can't when I'm making CHA projects. So it's tiring.) Anyway, I decided to use the painting to throw together a layout just for me. Something joyful and fun to create.
I painted the floral design white and cut it out (I didn't like the black border around the circle).
And here's the layout:
I love it! It really refreshed my spirit to make it. I loooooooooove all the companies I get to work for, but sometimes I need to create without having to use certain papers or embellishments, you know?
My favorite part of the layout is the painted design. But my second favorite part is the fact that I matted the small photos on book pages. You can see a bit of the text in the photo above. I'm going to have to do that again. I love the way the yellow-y paper looks!
