A layout without journaling is not unheard of from me, but it is fairly rare. Check it out:
I made the background paper by stamping a large tree stamp several times with three colors of ink.
I stitched around the edge the layout and the edge of the title block and large frame for a bit of extra texture and color.
The flowers got jazzed up with some small pearls, but what I really want to talk about is that large frame (peeking out at the bottom of the photo below).

But it started out as this stamp:
At dinner with some scrappy friends several weeks ago, one of them mentioned that she often cuts up her acrylic stamps in order to customize her finished image.
I was horrified.
But I have since thought about it and decided, why not? It's easy enough to realign the stamp on an acrylic block if you want to. And so I cut my stamp into four pieces:
And I proceeded to create my brand new shape by stamping with the various pieces.
Cool, right? When I had my finished large frame, I simply cut it out with a pair of scissors.
Isn't that a fun and easy way to push your stamps to do even more?

Beautiful layout! I love how you can create a nice pattern using the same stamp in different colors. Oh and you are sooo daring! I’m always so envious of folks who dare to cut their stamps…ahah…I’m too afraid to!

very cool! I’ve cut some of my stamps before, but usually its sentiments that make them easier to use if they’re separate.

Oh my! Looks so good but I may be chicken. I have cut word/title stamps apart but I would have never thought of this.

I have even cut apart rubber stamps if there’s an element I want to isolate (or eliminate). I din’t know if that’s being brave. I just think of it as making my supplies work for me.

OMG my OCD self just had a panic attack when I saw this.. hahahaha!!! I am actually sitting here laughing to myself, AT myself because I cannot ever imagine cutting up one of my stamps.. However, with that being said.. I would have to buy two knowing one was for cutting up *gasp* lol
