I worked with Kenner Road's main kit, "Skylark," and the add-on, which is called "Garden Party."  Here's what I made!

Mama And Her Babies

Yes, I'm obsessed with painting circles these days.  And of course, I'm obsessed with painting in general!  Here's a look at the little flower I painted:

The base is gesso and then I used watercolor paint on top.  I really like how it turned out, very coloring book-ish.

There was an incredibly generous serving of die cut border strips in the kit.  I layered a collection of them.  They're self-adhesive too, which makes things easy.  My only complaint: you have to punch out all the die cut parts and that does take a while!

I love, love, loved the "Handmade" collection by K&Co. at CHA.  So I was thrilled and delighted and tickled pink to receive a pack of the Ensemble Ephemera in my kit!  I used bits and pieces of the pack on every single project I made this month!

This is a layout that started as one thing and then just evolved into something else entirely!

I added some Distress Stickles to this paper book plate to make it sparkle a bit with vintage glam!

These fabric and batting flowers from Basic Grey are really pretty.  (I added the flower rhinestone at the center, but the rest of the flower comes that way — with the button and the stitching and all that.)  I appreciate how super sticky this flower is too!  The adhesive on the back is really strong, which is so fabulous!   It stays put.

More "vintage" ephemera and some sparkly numbers.  The colored background for this layout is a mixture of Distress Ink and Spray Ink.

I free-motion stitched leaves all over the border stickers and then painted the stitching in with watercolor paints.  I'm kind of thrilled with the look!

This layout feels a little different for me.  Lots of crazy patterns going on and no paint or ink!  What is happening?  There was a thread on 2Peas about "your current
go-to technique" and so many people said mists and spray ink.  I find myself gravitating towards stitching.  Maybe because I just need to be different?  I don't know.  But something tells me the winds of change are coming!

I typed my journaling on a piece of densely patterned paper.  I tend to reach for cardstock to make sure my journaling is 100% legible, but I'm liking the way it looks on patterned paper.

I took one of the die cut border strips and hacked it up, putting pieces all over the background of my photos.

Love, love, love the faux vintage buttons from Jenni Bowlin.  And how cheery is that yellow polka dot alphabet?  (Stitching is a great way to make sure your "self-adhesive" letters stay in place.)  The mulberry paper and corrugated cardboard are both from that same K&Co. pack of "vintage" ephemera.

Scrappy Mini Book

I loved making this little book.  I used up all the scraps and bits and leftover pieces from the kits.  (btw: Isn't that faux old book cover too cool?  7gypsies made it and it comes in a pack with two covers – front and back.)  Here's what the front cover looks like unwrapped:

Notice how that Basic Grey flower is stuck to the ribbon.  Seriously good adhesive, I'm telling you!  Here's a view from the side:

The inside of the book is blank right now, but consists of 3 basic types of pages: pockets, flaps, and regular pages.

Pocket pages are pretty self-explanatory: I created pockets that can be filled!

Flap-sm
Flap pages are pages that have a little paper flap that something can be tucked under, such as the photo in the example above.

Regularpage-sm
And above is a regular page: just scraps of paper stitched together.
