It's no secret that I'm not much of a card maker.  I rarely make them.  I always have trouble making them, in fact.  There's something about the size that just doesn't work in my brain.  HOWEVER, this contest was pointed out to me recently.  And I always love a challenge!  So, I sat down to try and create a birthday card.  Here are the cards I came up with:

CelebrateCard-sm

BookPageRose-sm

HappyBirthday-stencil-alt-sm

Let'sPartyCard-sm

I feel like I've had a break through!  I like these cards eleven billion times more than I've ever liked cards I made in the past.  I think it's because when I usually make cards, there's stuff I *have* to use.  These cards are mostly paint.  That makes me happy.

Also, I used the Scor-It to make my cards and oh my goodness, I am a believer!  It's such an easy way to make a really professional (totally straight, no cracking involved) score.  No need to buy card blanks ever again!

Do you know a wicked good card maker?  Share a link with me and I'll choose someone to win this little RAK:

Giveaway-June

Okay, it's not that little actually.  Some of it is new and some of it is old.  Some of it is partially used and some of it is never opened.  There's some Queen&Co. self-adhesive felt, most of a pack of Pink Paislee self-adhesive chipboard, some Maya Road rub-ons, alphabet brads, ribbon, some hand painted (by me) sticky back canvas, and lots more.  I think I see a Love, Elsie frame, a MME embellishment card, some Fancy Pants embellishments, some Cosmo Cricket (Mr. Campy line) handcut pieces…and on and on.  Just link me up and you'll be entered to win!

ETA: WINNER HAS BEEN SELECTED ALREADY!  THANKS!

I've been cleaning out my crafty space, so I've got a few more boxes of stuff to give away in the coming weeks!

Thanks for stopping by!

PS: Comment from this post:

O.M.G. is right … that looks sensational … and we get to see you modelling it … when ???

  • i don’t make a lot of cards myself, either! i love the handmade approach with my scrapbooking, much like you do, but handmade cards just intimidate me. i’m afraid they won’t be “professional” or “appealing” enough! but you really pulled these off and they look amazing. so much so that i’m not being shy anymore and commenting you (even though i’ve been a longtime lurker). i particularly love how you’ve begun to use magazine cut-outs as silhouettes in your art. genius!
Jenn Ski (http://jennskistudio.blogspot.com/) makes gorgeous retro-style art that i am absolutely in love with. http://ny-image0.etsy.com/il_430xN.77081860.jpg — those are her owl cards and the art on them is fantastic. i just love her designs (and owls!)
tiara tomato (http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5325852) makes really awesome handmade cards with a very organic feel to them, so i wanted to show you an owl card from them too! http://ny-image2.etsy.com/il_430xN.71909150.jpg
