If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here. All of the previous posts can be found archived here. Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day! No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek. Even if you're not on social media, you can see everything (from twitter, pinterest, instagram, and facebook) that uses that hashtag here.
All good things must come to an end. And so the art journal I've been sharing from 2019 has come to an end. Here are the last few pages in that journal:
The base of this page was from a calendar on color. The honeycomb color key was printed on the calendar page. I took it as my inspiration for cutting up the edge of the page.
And then I simply glued a tag I had stamped, with lots of hand carved stamps, onto the left side of the page.
You can again see a page from that calendar all about color peeking through on this next page:
I used some soft water-soluble pencils and crayons to draw/color in the face.
The last two pages in this journal are kind of throw aways. If you've been reading this blog for a while then you know that I tend to get bored at the end of a journal and just want it to be over so that I can start the next journal. This page is simply lots of leftover collage paper bits glued down randomly:
And finally, the end papers are off prints of a hand carved stamp:
I love this stamp, but I wasn't thinking about a finished product when I stamped them. I simply had extra ink and was using it up by stamping onto random painted papers. Then I took those papers and glued them into this book without a lot of thought to color or placement. And that's fine. I don't think every page of my art journal has to be a masterpiece. It's a working book for me to record my thoughts and feelings while exploring some art making ideas and techniques.
