Eeek! I can hardly believe my good luck!
Now that the announcement has officially been made, I can share the news that I have been invited to join the Prima Marketing Design Team for 2009!!!!
I am over the moon and thoroughly thrilled down to my toes! When I got the phone call from Sharon on Monday night, I totally embarrassed myself by screaming like a four-year-old. I the proceeded to run around the apartment after I found out, jumping in the air and going "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee."
The team is absolutely *amazing* and I know you'll want some linkage. You can read the announcement here. There's a photo of each of the Flower Girls, a layout, and a little something about why Prima picked them. And here are the 2009 Flower Girls with my own editorial comments:
- Amy Parker (USA): I know Amy from the Label Tulip message board. She does digi and traditional scrapping. Got to love that! Plus she's super nice.
- Anam Stubbington (Canada): Anam and I met online two years ago, maybe? Her work is beautiful and she has a very generous spirit. She sent me my very first Hambly overlays. Her sketches are often featured on the Prima blog.
- Cari Fennell (USA): Kim and I were lucky enough to meet Cari at the Prima booth at CHA. She was our salesperson. If you scroll down, there are some photos of her helping us shop. She's so incredibly fun (and super talented too)! She's also a designer for Bad Girls Kits.
- Caroline Ikeji (USA): She has been a Memory Makers Master and CK Hall of Famer. She has a very cool and hip vibe in her scrapbooks. I remember her from the very first "Layout A Day" group on Two Peas.
- Christiane Müller (Germany): I am an enormous Christiane fan. She's an online pal. Her work is just so beautiful and so different. It's clean but layered and full of life. Plus, she's so very, very nice!
- Ingvild Bolme (Norway): I've heard Ingvild's name a thousand times. Or rather, I've read it a thousand times. This is her second year on the Prima team and she's also on the Bad Girls team with Cari. Her work is so awesomely layered.
- Iris Babao-Uy (Philippines): This is also her second year on the Prima team. She is a previous Memory Makers Masters as well. Her work is filled with beautiful hand cutting.
- Jaime Warren (USA): She is a current Memory Makers Master and has a photography business. Her exquisite layouts are filled with lots of white space. I believe that she also writes a column for Scrapbook News & Review.
- Janine Koczwara (Australia): I took a quick look through her blog and saw a ton of flowery goodness. Lots of bright colors and funky layers. Can't wait to see more!
- Jen Jockish (USA): I am a big fan of her work. She is a SIS Fashionista. Her work is so creative and unusual. I've admired her from afar for a long time. I see her layouts in Scrapbooks Etc. all the time.
- Jo-Anne te Raa Chater (Netherlands): She is also a SIS Fashionista. She has a cool, artsy vibe.
- Joei Lau (Japan): She lives in Japan, but is actually from Hong Kong. And her work is just gorgeous!
- Julie Fei-Fan Balzer (USA): That's me!
- Malin Dahlstrom (Sweden): The most recent post on her blog is from September 2008 announcing that she's been chosen as a Prima Guest Designer. I'm not surprised that they decided to keep her on full time! Her work is gorgeous!
- Oddbjorg Ringsby (Norway): Clean, feminine, beautiful pages. I remember seeing her beautiful work during the Bad Girls Top Designer contest, where she was a runner up.
- Prisca Jockovic (France): I hope that link is right. My French is non-existant and that's what came up when I googled her name. Such lovely layouts.
- Sharon Laakkonen (USA): Sharon is the DT coordinator and I couldn't find a blog for her. But, she's a Creating Keepsakes Hall of Famer and all around awesome scrapper. She's the one who called me on Monday and had to endure my very loud enthusiasm.
- Tracie Hudson (UK): Fun, energetic, and awesomely layered layouts on her blog. She rocks the Sassafrass Lass!
