I recently did my very first "assignment" layouts for a magazine. Swedish scrapbooking magazine, Scrapbooking m.m. asked me to do two layouts. Both layouts recently appeared in an issue of the magazine (which is beautiful, I'm only sad I don't read Swedish!)
The first one is based on this sketch:
I inked the edges of the star with Distress Ink and an ink blending tool for the two-tone look you see here.
Stitching down chipboard letters is a sure way to make certain they stay put.
I found some paint that matches the color of these Hambly transparencies pretty well. I did a bit of bubble wrap printing here.
The second layout is based on the concept of symmetry (you'll have to read the mag for more on that):
I outlined the vinyl letter stickers to give them a bit more impact.
Layered circles will always be one of my most favorite go-to embellishments! Love 'em!
I have some more assignment work with them, some of which is waiting for pub and some of which I'm working on as we speak. If you have the chance to check the mag out, let me know what you think!
Thanks for stopping by!
Super creative pages! Love the paint, the stitching and stars on the first! Very creative! Those nose cups are the funniest! 🙂

What a fun sketch and I love the LO with the stars that you made. Afraid that I can’t read Swedish either. But the art transcends the language for sure!

I really love the colors and graphic look of the symmetry layout…do you know what papers you used? I love the raised buttons and need to remember to try those!
