Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments about my wedding album yesterday. It's truly one of my most favorite things I've ever made. And as many of you pointed out, that's because of the story. All that journaling means a lot. I haven't gotten it back from its journey to CHA yet, but I am anxious to have it my hands again. Truth be told, my husband hasn't even seen it. I shipped it on the day I finished it!
And for today's project, a layout I did for InfoCrea.
When I saw these pretty papers from the Innocence line from Sultane, I immediately thought of these photos of my friends Riv and Lorraine getting excited about some Cadbury Eggs!
My favorite thing about the layout is the fact that I cut that large rectangle with scissors and so it's all wonky. It just creates such a nice sense of motion on the layout!
I inked the edges of the paper with yellow, blue, and brown inks. It gives a kind of cool "glow" effect, don't you think?
I also inked the edges of the paper ruffles to help the punched edge really stand out.
I used a truly random collection of pink flowers (that felt flower has been in my "pink embellishments" drawer for about two years) to decorate the layout. I used the white buttons to try to create some kind of unity among them.
It's funny that this layout has flowers on it. Before I joined the Prima design team I didn't use a lot of flowers. I liked them, but I was fairly embellishment-challenged. I also wasn't a big girly-girl. But somehow I've become flower addicted! And everything seems to have a girly touch to it these days. Eep! I suppose we all go through artistic phases. I'm definitely caught in a heart/flower/ruffle one. Can't stay away from those elements!

Your wedding album is gorgeous! I love the cover the most. The title work on the front with the layering is my favorite part. Hope you get it back soon.
Hmm. My current addiction seems to be letter stickers. I still love certain font letter stickers. I just like em. I can’t seem not to be digging through my box everytime I make something.

I’ve been using glimmer mists to see the different effects that I can get and using more paint as well (thanks to you and Nat).
Artistic tape is my biggest obsession and I bought a roll of tye dye duct tape yesterday at Staples!

The colors in this layout are just as yummy as those darn addictive eggs! 😉 I’m addicted to crackle paint and the glass bead gel from Golden. I’m putting that stuff on everything these days!

Mists I’m afraid….so boring isn’t it? I am still learning how to use them and am so inspired by u and your work and really want to learn more about painting and mixing colors and all that. I collected all of Claudines studio paint and they are really nice quality. Oh, the other day I was punching (pre-punched) game pieces out of the cardboard they came on and it was a sheet of circle shaped pieces and after the 3rd page I realized the negative space would be a great stencil!!
