CreativeTherapy
I'm delighted to share that I've joined the team over at the Creative Therapy challenge blog.  If you've never visited Creative Therapy here's the deal:

  • The blog has been around since 2008.
  • To date there have been 125 catalysts!  A catalyst is a question or a thought to get your creative juices flowing.  You can see all the past catalysts here.  From serious to silly you are encouraged to create a piece of art (a scrapbook page, a quilt, an illustration, an entry in your art journal, etc.) based on the catalyst.
  • Each catalyst comes with a fabulous guest!  From Judy Wise to Rebecca Sower the guests are pulled from all over the art/craft world.  It's quite exciting!
  • In 2011 a new catalyst will be posted each month.

The first catalyst of the year is: What's your word/focus for 2011?  The guest is Katie Kendrick.  I didn't know Katie's work at all, but I've just subscribed to her blog!  Lots of fun faces and painty play!  She is super talented!

Anyway, here's my response to the catalyst:

Grow-sm
Grow-sm
Grow-sm
I carved a series of stamps and printed them onto book pages, which I then decoupaged to a small canvas.

To read about why I chose the word "grow" visit the Creative Therapy blog here.

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. See these two boxes?

2boxes
They are filled to overflowing with paper, embellishments, stamps, and lots and lots of generally fun stuff!  If anyone who lives in NYC would like to come and pick a box up (I live in midtown), I am giving both of them away.  Lots of it is new and never used.  First two people to e-mail me each get a box.  You have to be able to pick it up in the next day or two.  And it's the luck of the draw on which one you get.  Thanks!

  • I saw the announcement the other day over on CT blog…. congrats! You will be such a great addition to their already awesome lineup!
I have to say, it is such a small world sometimes … so many bloggers I follow are getting on the design teams of ‘creative’ blogs I also follow. Weird, huh?
    CONGRATS!

  • OOps! I meant to write “STAMPS” not singular “stamp!” I wanted to correct that to acknowledge that I appreciated all of your carvings! 🙂
