100 Girls on Cheap Paper: Part Three

Thank you so much for all of your enthusiastic comments.  I was feeling pretty insecure about sharing all the faces — good and bad — and now I'm so glad that I did!  So here it is, the final (for now) installment of my girls on cheap paper:

The project has been good for me.  I have really enjoyed experimenting with a variety of art materials and styles.  You see, I'm still discovering who I am as an artist and this "face book" has been a lovely place to search for some answers.  I think this group of portraits shows some significant growth from the earlier ones.  They say that practice makes perfect.  I certainly hope so as I plan to continue my face painting project with a new notebook!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • I’m such a Luddite! Finally figured out how to leave a comment…The faces are wonderful; I enjoyed noting which feature grabbed my ‘eye’…lots of variety in that.
Dreaming about doing art is my forte, keep promising to put dreams on paper…
and you do inspire me. Your name in my in-box calls me first every day..or if it’s a ‘low’ day, it gets saved for last and best. Thank you so much.
Stencils have always been a joy, and purchasing yours is my thank you for all that you do…

  • Picking a favorite? Really? Well, they’re all fascinating and draw me in. My favorite style of all so far is your sumi & acrylic ink series, I see more layers of hair and facial dimension in this group. Your work is infused with so much energy!

  • Julie, thank you for being so ‘real’ and telling us when you’re scared or sad or happy, or still learning! I SO appreciate that!!
I look at your art, and think, ‘she knows it all-and I can try to do half of what she does…’
The Truth, is that we are ALL learning from one another, and there is so much MORE to learn!
I need to remember NOT to believe the lie!
I too, am like Beckie (commenter above) who says she ‘saves’ your column for last if it’s a ‘low’ day–you are like dessert in my INBOX!! Have a great day!
