Brother’s Scan N Cut Coming in October

As I mentioned a week or two ago, Brother is releasing a very exciting brand new cutting machine in October, called the Scan N Cut.

Brother_International_Scanncut_Scan_N_Cut
It’s the first electronic cutting machine with a 300 dpi built-in scanner!  There is absolutely no need for a computer.  The machine operates 100% independently!  I’ve been loving scanning in my handwriting, and cutting it out, as you can see on this scrapbook page:

MakeLovelyThings-wm
If you’d like to be among the first to know when the Scan N Cut is released, sign-up to be on the Scan N Cut e-mail list here.  Very soon I’ll be able to share some detailed tutorials.  I think you’re going to be as excited about the possibilities as I am!

Thanks for stopping by!

UPDATE: The ScanNCut is now available for sale!  Hooray!

  • OMG! I haven’t been this intrigued by something scrappy since I discovered the pazzles at GASC Arlington back in 2008. Saved my pennies for a year and took home my treasure in 2009. I agree with Scrappybarb….SWOON….and YES, I WILL BE stalking this product (and saving my pennies starting NOW!)

  • oh no I have no more room! I already have the Big Shot and the Silhouette. BTW I scan in items and pull them into photoshop and then into my Silhouette. So that machine can do the same things but with a few more steps! I have never scanned in my handwriting because it is awful but you could do it!

  • EASY Select Control all (CTRL A), then copy, then paste into the Silhouette software screen, then go through the steps to change size, etc, then select trace window and proceed to make suitable adjustments to your desired cut. I do this all the time. Better if image is high contrast I usually create in black and white in Photoshop, or convert mode to grayscale, then adjust lighting til I get an image I like.
