After CHA, I wrangled three friends into renting a house for a few days so that we could sit around and make some art together. The night we arrived at the house, we piled all of our luggage in the entry way and it was absurd.
Four women for two days with fifteen bags. Admittedly, we had all been traveling and teaching and had plenty of excuses, but wow! All of that luggage meant that we had to rent this beast…
…just to deal with the luggage. It was hilarious for the four of us to be driving around in a twelve passenger van! Parking it was beyond hilarious.
In any case, because of the luggage absurdity, we chose an appropriate hashtag for all of the photos we posted to instagram: #2days15bags. Thus, the title of this blog post.
Besides the bags, there was plenty of eating…
Some of it was vaguely healthy, but most of it was not!
There was a lot of time spent in the sun and the pool…
There was some very impressive hair braiding…
There was a visit to the Stampendous warehouse where we played with Nathalie's new stamps…
…and embossing powder…
And, of course, we spent a big chunk of every day making art together!
The last photo is of a collaborative art journaling game we played. I'll be sharing the details of that on Friday for Art Journal Every Day!
The four of us had a great time. It was a lovely experience and definitely something I'd like to do again. Why wait for someone to create your perfect art retreat when you can make one with your friends!

You did a lot better than we do every year. And where did you go this time of year where it is warm enough to swim? I don’t like to swim unless the water temps are 80 to 90 degrees warm.
