My friend Nathalie lives about an hour subway ride away, across the river in New Jersey. She'd say 45 minutes. I say an hour. She'd say Jersey City is pretty much New York City, I'd say it's not. ;)
Last week she was part of an art exhibition in her apartment complex. Lots of interesting artists from her complex displayed their work. Here's a picture of Nathalie with her mixed media paintings.
She invited me to come and then further tempted me to travel to New Jersey with promises of a slumber party. (Can two people be a party?) We did some very slumber party-ish stuff. I curled her hair…
…and then we stayed up until 5am talking and giggling. So the next day was definitely a pajama day!
P.S. We accidentally locked ourselves out of the house while standing on her 5th floor terrace and had to break in through a window…but that's a story for another day!
We ate…
…did some artistic experimenting in her fully stocked studio…
I scribbled on a paper bag and told Nathalie it was her hostess gift.
She said she would treasure it always. ;)
And, of course, we hatched some evil (artistic) plans for the future!
I left Jersey City feeling excited and energized! Do you ever have an art slumber party? I highly recommend it!

We don’t usually do overnights, but I do have two sister pals that I spend all afternoon with every Thursday, and often my whole family goes over and we make dinner together and craft till the wee hours of the morning on Friday evenings. We occasionally work so late that everyone is asleep on the sofas and floor. Then I just crawl into bed in the spare room. (:

How fun to play at being kids for a day. We all need that once in a while to ‘tune up’ our inner fun selves! Nathalie has such a lovely smile — even her eyes smile! I’m so glad you two get together for fun times and sharing ideas, doing goofy stuff, and being ‘artsy fartsy’ now and again!

Three of my good friends and I are heading to the beach next week. We will cart a whole bunch of art supplies there and have a ball for a week! I cannot wait! I have your book on carving stamps on my Kindle and I have my carving supplies packed.
