Richard Dunn was stuck at the LasVegas airport overnight. In an empty airport with an iPhone, lots of time, and tons of creativity, he created this amazing video!

I think it's amazingly clever how he attached his phone to the moving sidewalk and the escalator and used all the faces around him to create interactions (especially the ladies room sign).
As his video demonstrates, being creative is a way to pass the time. It's a way to express yourself. It's something you simply have to make or create in the moment.
People tell me all the time that they're "just not creative." It's untrue! If you've ever doodled while listening to a phone call or built a sandcastle or turned a bedsheet into a toga, you're a creative person! If you've ever pulled together a super cute outfit to wear or made a fabulous meal from miscellaneous leftovers in the fridge, you're a creative person.
To me, creativity, is simply expressing yourself with whatever tools you have on hand. Sometimes it's an iPhone. Sometimes it's a ballpoint pen.
I did that doodle while listening to a lecture last week.
Sometimes it's food.
My version of skinny summer pesto — cauliflower instead of pasta and I used chicken broth in the pesto (which you can barely see underneath the tomatoes and arugula) instead of oil.
Sometimes it's an excuse to get out of doing something you don't want to do. ;)
Whatever ways you're being creative today, celebrate them! Creativity isn't about making great (capital A) Art. Creativity is about engaging in play for your own pleasure, using the resources you have at hand.
I'll bet you that if you start to count the ways in which you express your creativity today, you'll be bowled over by how very creative you are every single day!

Thanks for the video – love how he used what he had to make something new. and ‘yes’ to being creative. I told myself for years that I wasn’t and only in the last 10 years have discovered and accepted that I am.
