Art Journal Every Day: Girl with Wings in Fast Forward

ArtJournalEveryDayLogo-150If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  There is a flickr group for sharing right here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it.  If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post.  Thanks!

Happy Friday!  I often get asked where my inspiration for my art journal pages comes from.  It really varies.  Sometimes it's a technique or new product.  Other times it's just a feeling I have or something I've seen recently.  For this particular page, it was Wednesday's hand carved stamp:

10-hand

I turned it into wings:

Wings

Watch the video for a peek at how it all came together:

Now this page is all prepped and ready for several days worth of journaling!

  • So helpful to see your process of creating. I also like the three women on your facing page made with your other stamp. I am curious to know how long the painting took in real time? You make it look so quick and easy, but that is deceptive because of all the previous hours of painting faces that led you to that skill.

  • This was awesome. Loved seeing how it all came together. Probably one of my favorite “faces” you’ve created. Wonderful stamp as well. I hope you do more videos like this.
