  • I thankfully found Roxanne several months ago somewhere through social media and love her work. Thanks for having her on the podcast – best hour I have spent this week!

  • There Julie and mom and Roxanne,
Love the dark side of creating. Speaking of tarot. I too have many cards and I do collect them and other metaphysical items.
My intention was to take my tarot cards the major arcana and scan them into my scan n cut. With that said my scan n cut finds my cards to busy and to much color or what ever so it will not really show up on the screen. My reason was to take muslin or just a plain fabric and draw or some how print them on the fabric and make my own fabric.
What I have done is I have printed them out on iron on quick fuse fabric sheets for ink Jet Printers. Then I made up some bags for tarot cards etc and used the iron on and these came out really nice.
Roxanne love the witch hand, love the nails. I will look for your classes on etsy. Julie I am taking your free class on your site stenciling.
I have recently received a set of tarot that you color in with colored pencils created by Liz Dean. Barns and Noble.
Love Love Penny Dreadful. Sorry to see that it is coming to a seasonal end. Love your eye creation. That was a big thing for me too way back in the day. I always found my self doodling eyes and boxes for some reason.
I agree with the comment you have to create every day. I find when I had stopped creating and crafting for several years. I am starting all over again. Makes it a bit hard. I am still trying to get my grove back and it is taking a while.
Same here craft alone, More of an introvert myself. Same talking about crafts brings me out of my shyness or talking about things that I have in common with others.
Love the conversation it was really so much fun. I too have very old recipes that if I have not made by now they need to go.
Well you all have a great day loved all the chat on show will look forward to the next one.

I loved listening to your podcast. It was my first as I usually don’t think I have the time to listen. This time I listened while I did other office tasks over 2 days so that worked great. I have had 2 courses with Roxanne so I know her work well. Roxanne it was great to hear your exuberant voice and hear more of your story.I have not created from the dark side that often but feel a calling to explore that way, so it was great hearing about your work. I also think it would be fun to turn your inner critic into one of your “creatures”.
Julie, I have tons of ephemera and wouldn’t want to give it up. I think some of us are minimalists like Roxanne and others like to pull from such a big source but that is ok, if we were all the same it would be really boring.
Eileen, I love your sense of humor, you really cracked me up. I have a vision of you reading recipes now. I have a big binder full of recipes that I have saved over the years so I relate to that.
Julie, there is a very simple and great online Tarot class you might be interested in. http://tarotcourse.littleredtarot.com/ It’s tarot your way and its very inexpensive.
Thanks to all three of you for such a lively interesting conversation.

  • This was really fun! I could have listened to this for another hour. Not nice to gang up on your mom. LOL, I get that all the time. I actually laughed out loud several times. I need a friend like Roxanne to help with me with down sizing. I want and need to do this as I’ve downsized space but it is so hard to decide what goes and I know she is right. And, it interferes with my creating. I think you should have her back again to keep discussing this! Thanks so much Julie.

I’m with you Julie, soooooooooo many supplies-it makes no difference to me that some have not seen the light of day in a year- can’t and won’t give the supplies up… I even remember and get wispy for things I’ve purged in the past -so, I know not to go down that road again. I agree with Kate – we’re all different – thats what makes us all “INTERESTING” Hahaha!

  • Hi Julie and Eileen, Thank you for introducing me to Roxanne and her work. I hope I’ll get to take a class from her in the LA area one day (I’m already planning a see-through goat!). Something Roxanne said about the work her students create in her classes made me think to tell you, thanks; I am loving the artwork I make when I look to you for inspiration.
