You know that I love eyes! I just can't quit them no matter how often people tell me to move on. As a result, my art journal is chock full of eyes. Yay!
Today's page features three eyes stacked on top of each other. But…there's actually more than three eyes because the center eye lifts up to reveal two more eyes! (Also, note the date gaps in my "daily" journaling. That's okay.

Julie, I agree! For you it’s eyes, for me it’s flowers. Doesn’t matter what kind of flower, just flowers. I’m trying to learn to draw faces but I have this idea that I want them all to be flowers with faces. I’ll let you know how that turns out.;)

Well, you mentioned it before in your Podcast: it is a good idea to stay true to what you like! I wish I was a bit more like you and had a full period of focusing on something specific. I like too much and am like a butterfly hovering from flower to flower 🙂 I have a fascination for owls, but even they don’t appear in my work for a couple of days in row. Maybe I should make it a project to focus on one subject for like a whole week or month. And I totally love your eyes! It’s great to see how you are able to keep making new art with this “simple” element and how you keep making different eyes! All the great masters had episodes with something that fascinated them. So, consider yourself as one of them 🙂 Many years after you’ve died (it’s always after that 😛 ) people are talking about that great period in the life of the famous artist Julie Fei-Fan Balzer with her eyes 😀
