This past weekend my local quilt guild held its biennial quilt show.
(Special shout out to blog reader, Martha, for coming by to say hello when I was working the mini quilt table!) I thought I'd share a peek at some of my favorite quilts (and quilted pieces) from the show:
There was a great mix of traditional and art quilts. I, personally, tend to gravitate towards the art quilts — which you can see in these photos.

Finally, this is quilt show season and chances are good that you live near a quilt guild. Guild shows tend to be held in churches, schools, and libraries. So take a peek around you and plan a visit to a local guild's show. Even if you're not a quilter, it's always interesting to check out the colors and patterns and be inspired by them!

My sister is a (pseudo-traditional) quilter and I’m amazed at the skill it takes to create them. I am more attracted to the art quilts though. It’s amazing to me how people “paint” with fabric and thread.
