Is it too late to share some Christmas-ish photos?!  I hope not, because I'm going to do it anyway. Is this like wearing white after Labor Day?  No longer taboo?

First up, this is the gingerbread house that my Mom, my son, and I made:

Making projects with him I am always yelling at myself in my head: DON'T TRY TO CONTROL THE PROCESS.  LET IT BE WHAT IT IS.  Most of the time, I manage to roll with whatever he wants to do.  And in the end, it's always lots of fun and nothing that I expected.

And now on to the teacher gifts!  There is a large staff at the daycare my son attends 3-days-a-week.  I made Christmas Crack for everyone!

I put the recipe on the back, because (a) allergies and (b) it makes it more of a gift, in my opinion.  I slid the packages into these little bags I decorated:

I wanted to put the Christmas Crack into bags because I slipped some gift cards into the bags for the teachers in his classroom.

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Book Club is on Wednesday at 12:15pm.

  • I LOVE the Gingerbread house! That is a bazillion times more fun than the perfectly crafted “normal” gingerbread house! And, I have no reason whatsoever to make any Christmas Crack except that it looks delicious, and I want some! Haha! Happy 2022 Julie!

  • I bought the ingredients for Christmas Crack back in November…and they are still clustered together on a table, waiting to be used. So, if it’s not too late to post Christmas-ish photos, this was the sign I needed to know that it’s not too late to make Christmas crack!! New Year Yum?? Haha 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Julie!

  • My oldest son loved his dinosaurs, which often hovered over his dinner plate and found their way all over the house. He is 26 now, but we still hang a dinosaur ornament on our Christmas tree. Thank you for sharing this piece of your family and the recipe too.

  • Love the gingerbread house with dinosaurs!
My youngest loves dinos. Your pic reminds me of the picture book What the Dinosaurs Did Last Night by Refe and Susan Tuma. I highly recommend the books (there is another where they go to school).
