Hello, friends! Here is a little bit about life around here right now:

What are you working on?

These two mixed media collages are headed to an exhibit at a local gallery…

…and so today I am planning to frame and wire them.  I need to deliver them to the gallery this week.  If you're local, the Opening Reception is on November 4, 2021 4pm-7pm.  And the show will be up November 4, 2021 – January 8, 2022 at the TILL Wave Gallery: 264 Arlington Street, Watertown, MA.

What are you loving?

Meal prepping!

MealPrep-wm
I'm not all the way in, but I've started meal prepping breakfasts and lunches and it's definitely making it a lot easier to eat healthy.

How is the baby?

He's really starting to talk and it's wonderful!  (Of course, his favorite word is, "no," but we're working on it.)

SToneZoo-wm
I'm sure that every parent feels this way, but I feel so lucky that he's my kid.  He's so sweet and loving and smart and curious and all the things I could wish for.

Current art crush?

There's someone I started following this week and I'm already obsessed with her prints.  Her name is Amanda Etches and her instagram handle is simply etches.  Take a  peek:

"More curiosity and less judgment" is going to be my new motto in the studio.  It's quite an inspiring phrase!  I might even have to make a sign for myself to put up where I have to see it every day.

So, there you have it!  That's the scoop on life around here at the moment.  If you're a Monthly Member, October's personal vlog and studio vlog are both in online classroom.

What's the difference between a personal vlog and a studio vlog?

  • Personal vlogs have a lot of daily life stuff (lots of baby) and a bit of random art content.  They're pretty much like the old weekly vlogs you can still see on my YouTube channel. All Members have access to personal vlogs.
  • Studio vlogs are art focused on a single art project or art-related topic.  Past studio vlogs include: behind-the-scenes of putting together an online class, a studio tour, a peek into my sketchbook, etc.  Maker Members & Super Learner Members have access to the studio vlogs.

I hope that you are looking forward to Halloween as much as I am!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • I just remembered, I’m supposed to be prepping lunch salads. You’re so right about being able to eat healthy when you’ve made it more convenient. Those first two pieces will look great in the gallery, so fresh. No is an important word when used wisely, just keep teaching him wise. Love that dude.
