5 Mixed Media Art Supplies I’m Currently Loving!

I put together a quick edit of an instagram live video I did earlier this month.  It's all about 5 art supplies I'm currently loving!

Here's the list:

  1. Paint Puck
  2. Dynasty Stencil Brushes
  3. Listo China Markers
  4. Plastic Funnel
  5. Mesh File Box

You'll note that almost everything on the list is something that makes my arting life easier.  I'm at the stage in my art supply purchasing where the things that thrill me are usually little things that simply make creating easier and/or more pleasurable.

What's on your list of current favorite mixed media art supplies?  I'd love to know!

  • Thank you for the stencil brush recommendation! I’ve been trying to be more eco-friendly in my studio, and all those never-biodegrading cosmetic sponges were beginning to haunt me.
Also: Now I want a big label for my studio door that says “RANDOM” 😀

  • Our household has had two paint pucks since 2020. I agree with you; they’re great.

  • I’ll definitely try the pucks – and I have been using stencil brushes since we started stenciling way back in – well I’ve been married 50 years and in this house for at least 30 and we stenciled on the walls way back then. My stencil brushes are still good – was wondering if the new one was nicer, what are the bristles made of? I have used the cosmetic sponges and like them, but am aware of the waste problem too. Great post and Ideas are always welcome! Thanks for what you do and how well you do it.

  • Julie I have followed you for years. I should comment but you know…like you I am in a hurry.
But this was such a cute blog post I just had to say thinks.
I’ve got my collage by colors in zip lock bags but I kind of like your system.
I may do some reconsideration…sounds like a great winter project.
    Thanks again.
