Adventures in Arting Podcast: Sarah Matthews Printmaker Bookbinder

SarahQuote-500
Mom and I had a wonderful long chat with Sarah Matthews.  I've seen Sarah's colorful layered prints many times, but I didn't know about her extensive work as a bookbinder.  On the podcast we talk about creating during quarantine, YouTube, artist books, and lots more.  Sarah has four girls and still manages to carve, print, or bind every single day.  Give it a listen:

If you do not see the podcast player above, please click on this link.  On the off chance that you've never listened to a podcast or don't get why anybody would want to, here are some facts: (1) Podcasts are convenient. It's a recording that is available to you whenever and wherever you'd like to listen. You can pause, stop, start, fast forward, and rewind. Stream it through Apple Music or any podcast service. (2) Podcasts are great for listening to while making art. They provide intellectual stimulation and create a bit of company (like hanging out with friends) without the visual distraction of the TV. (3) Podcasts can inspire and educate you. I often find myself jotting down notes when I listen to a podcast. There's so much I want to remember.

If you enjoy the podcast, please tell a friend about the show.  This helps other people find the show.  Thanks so much!

  • I think this flag book is very interesting. I have seen this style of booklet used for photographs. As a display of art papers it becomes a very cool 3D piece of art. My cat would knock it over. And over. But perhaps it could actually go on a wall. My brain is occupied now. Thanks for this opportunity to learn from another artist.
