I'm editing my art journal photos so slowly that I'm going to be more than a year behind soon. (Does that matter? I don't think so.) Here are some pages from September/October 2019:
Do you recognize the tag that I'm using as a handle on this page?
It was a tag that I used to practice my gelatin prints with Pan Pastels. I don't throw anything away. I simply stash it away for later use. And it works perfectly as a handle on this shorter page edge.
I'm not always a fan of cold press watercolor paper, because of the bumpy texture. But I think it brings more interest to this face:
All those little white gaps are due to the bumpy texture of the paper and working with a fairly dry brush.
I used another gelatin print/Pan Pastel tag on the next page as well:
This is my "Fantastical" stencil, btw. I love those big fan shapes!
The face on this page is a monoprint on deli paper, which I collaged into my art journal.
I love creating quirky and interesting faces. The way the two eyes don't match on this face makes me very happy!
This next spread features a page I hand cut. Yes, I love to take a craft knife to my art journal. I find it relaxing.
In the image above you can see 3 stamps printed in black. What looks like little black lines, is a stamp. It has a wonderful wonky look that really appeals to me.

I left the right side white because it helps you to see the lace page. You can see how busy the page looks when there isn't a clean background:
If you're wondering why that tag says, "thank you," it's because the two pink tags are leftovers from a Make It Artsy shoot. I didn't want them to go to waste, so I found them a home.
I love that my art journal is a reflection, not only of my artistic state of mind, but also the little bits and pieces from my life. After all, I am a memory keeper at heart.
