Art Journal Every Day: August into September 2019

AJEDHeader2020

If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, the concept is simple: It's a commitment to take ten minutes each day to do something in your art journal.  No need to finish anything or even like it.  It's about making the time to nourish your creativity every day!  If you have the time to flip through your phone, you have the time to Art Journal Every Day.  If you'd like to share what you make, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek.  You can find new Art Journal Every Day posts here on the blog most Fridays.  The archives go back to the first Art Journal Every Day post in 2010.

I'm sharing some more pages from my daily(ish) art journal.  These ones are from the end of August and beginning of September of 2019:

I used two different Art Foamies stamps to create pattern in the flower and leaves.

This next page features a little bit of lettering and 3 balls of color and pattern:

Because I work in a junque journal (a journal made from discarded art stuff) I often use circles or other shapes to highlight the bits I can't bear to cover over.

(Above, that's my mini hexagons stencil used with translucent modeling paste.)

I stamped this quote in my art journal.  I love the way it looks.  I need to do more of this!  (See how easy it is to be inspired by your previous work!  A good reminder to flip through your old journals!)

I used a handful of tiny leftover paper scraps to decorate the edge of my art journal spread. Nothing goes to waste around here!

This next page features a flower I painted eons ago.

3-BigFlower-wm
I used it to decorate tote bags for Cocoa Daisy back in 2011:

I had the piece of paper kicking around the studio and I finally just bound it into one of my junque journals.  I decided to leave it very much as it was, but I had put masking tape all over it, so I fixed up the design in a few places and simply added some hot pink paint:

I hope you feel inspired to do some arting this weekend!  Talk to you next week!

  • Love the depth of your flowers! I love how you used your art foamies. I have those same ones. Now I realize that I don’t have to put paint on the entire stamp to achieve a desired affect. Thank you!!!!
