Art Journal Every Day: June & July 2019 Dailies

AJEDHeader2020

If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, the concept is simple: It's a commitment to take ten minutes each day to do something in your art journal.  No need to finish anything or even like it.  It's about making the time to nourish your creativity every day!  If you have the time to flip through your phone, you have the time to Art Journal Every Day.  If you'd like to share what you make, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek.  You can find new Art Journal Every Day posts here on the blog most Fridays.  The archives go back to the first Art Journal Every Day post in 2010.

I'm sharing some more pages from my 2019 daily(ish) art journal:

This spread features a shaped edge on the right and a ton of stamping on the left.

My art journal is one of my favorite places to safely stash away tags and papers that I've stamped on.

This next page was actually transplanted from an old art journal that I took apart.  So the artwork on it is probably 5-7 years old.

I simply cut around the artwork and bound the "new" page into this journal.

As you can see below, the backside of the page really shows off that funky edge:

3-BlackPage-wm
I created two mandalas on this page using a white pen and a lot of energy.

My white pen of choice is the no longer available white poster paint Sharpie.  I've pretty much switched to the white Posca pen and I'm pretty happy with it.

4-YellowNude-wm
I collaged deli paper scraps along the left side of this page:

Collaging painted deli paper is one of my favorite things to do.  It always ends up looking great!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • This isn’t about your work that you’ve been doing. I am asking a favor. Is it possible for you to create an ear saver for mask wearers? Lots of teachers and students will be returning to schools with masks, and I think it would be great if they could be provided with ear savers since they’ll be wearing masks for hours. Right now I’m sewing them, but it would be wonderful if I could make a bunch out of plastic folders, maybe better if we could use vinyl, but I’m not sure that would hold up. Any help you can give is much appreciated.
