Hey there! Today I've got some more art journal pages from 2019 to share with you! This first page features a large monoprint I did on deli paper and then collaged into my art journal. After collaging it, I used a Stabilo pencil to clean up some of the features of the portrait.
You can see the texture from the monoprinting process in this detail photo:
The flowers in the background were drawn with a white grease pencil.
In the photo above you can see one of the many reasons that I love working in a junque journal! I love it when bits and pieces of the junque peek through the artwork. It adds so much complexity and interest to the final spread!
Question: What do you do with all the tags you make? Answer: I use them! You can see a big stamped tag and a little stamped tag in this spread.
I was 8 weeks pregnant when I did this spread. My art journal became a fun way to keep track of the pregnancy through artwork.
I like to test out new art supplies in my art journal. As you can see from the photo above, I was comparing the different tip sizes of the white gelly roll pen. As a side note: I don't see a lot of differences between 05 and 08, but 10 is nice and fat.
This is another "lace" or hand cut page.
This was a page from calendar with a picture of a color chart. I cut around the colors and the names of the colors.
