When I found out I was pregnant, I pretty much stopped posting my art journal pages online because they were all about the pregnancy and I needed to keep it private until I was sure the pregnancy was going to "stick." These are the pages where I'm talking about the size of the baby:
I often letter thoughts and sayings from my life. This week it was "the size of an orange seed."
The face on this page is built across layers junque (aka used paper ephemera):
I like the texture that it adds!
This next page features a big pregnant belly. I suppose it just looks like an uneven edge if you're not thinking about pregnancy, but I was.
I love how a simple shape repeated over and over (the plus sign) looks so cool!
This lettering looks fancy, but it's really very simple:
Some quick bubble letters and then a bunch of dots.
When I have a really pretty piece of deli paper that I can't bear to cover up or obscure, I like to find a way to highlight it in my art journal, as you can see in this heart. The left side (orange) is screenprinted and the right side (white) is stenciled.
"Blueberry" refers to the size of the baby and "that tiny flicker" refers to when we saw the baby's heartbeat on the ultrasound for the first time.

And, of course, the page is filled with prints from hand carved stamps — one of my favorite ways to fill up empty space and decorate a page!
