ScanNCut DX: Clean Your Scanner Glass

Hello!  Let's talk about cleaning the scanner glass on your ScanNCut DX.  The scanning feature is one of the most powerful and unique features that ScanNCut has to offer.  Occasionally, you may notice a line or a dot or a missing section in your scans.

What's up with that?  Well, it's nothing to worry about.  It just means that you need to clean that scanner glass.  And in this video, I show you how to do it:

Super easy, right?  And once I cleaned the scanner, here is what I made with the scan of that simple drawing:

I turned the drawing into a stencil…

…and then used the stencil to make lots of pretty prints!

My ScanNCut is a stencil making beast — easily one of my favorite features of the machine.

Thanks for stopping by!

  • I have the DX machine. Still having issues with it not accepting the mat I have to firmly hold it tight against the roller and then it will not take it. Dealer in Ft. Collins is no help. Also tried to cut the vinyl. The lettering is 3 ft long and the machine stopped cutting only half of the lettering and did not complete the whole thing. I got Longarm of The West but Custom Quilting did not cut. How do I calibrate this machine?
    Thanks Love your demos.

  • Can you tell me what material you use for the stencils? I have the 650 machine and want to start making stencils. I was going to use the plastic sheets they sell for sewing and quilting, but it maybe too thick.

  • You should contact Brother Customer Service about the mat loading issue.  Im not sure what kind of calibration youre talking about. I do have a video on calibrating the scanner?
