Hello, friends! Here's a little bit about life right now:
Maternity Jeans.
I have reached the point where my pants no longer fit.
What have you bought?
An antique lighting fixture for the living room in our new home.
Our house was built in 1890 and this fixture is from 1910. So, not exactly the same, but close enough.
What are you reading?
"This is Marketing" by Seth Godin. Meh. After reading "Building a Story Brand," I wanted more! So, I decided to try some other marketing books. This one is such a disappointment after Story Brand. I've reached the point where I'm debating not finishing the book. Gasp! I've carried it with me on several trips and keep making excuses not to keep reading it…probably a sign.
Current art crush?
Renee of flygurl_designs.
I swoon over her masterful patterns and the gorgeous color combinations she chooses for printing. Every day is a delight!
So, there you have it! That's the scoop on life around here at the moment. If you'd like more behind-the-scenes real life fun, Steve and I sat down to chat about our baby and what the journey has been and might be going forward:
ALSO: The hour-long livestream for YouTube channel members will be on Saturday, June 29 at 3pm EST. Some of the topics I will be covering include: drawing faces, bookbinding, creating paper cuts, and more! Becoming a YouTube Channel member costs just $4.99/month.
Thanks for stopping by!
Julie, you look wonderful. I am so happy for you.

CONGRATS! SEW awesome to see you happy! Plz tell me: How do I cut out my logo on fabric with the SnC 225DX? The logos are printed exactly the same as the Row by Row license tags & charms if you’ve seen those. I’ve tried with heat-n-bond, also with HotFlex or whatever that new one is. I’ve tried WITH paper and without. I set the dial on left side at “2”. A few cut but it pulls the fabric before it finishes & I have to finish with scissors. Seems easier just to cut whole things with scissors at the moment but since I sell these things, I need to know how to really DO it with SnC. All help appreciated! LOVE all your projects!

I think the biggest surprise I had with my first born was how fast they grow, ie baby clothes are like new when they grow out of them, and that they are so active… I mean I slept more than they did. I was exhausted all the time. I felt lucky to get dinner on the table. So, between baby feedings, washing all the extra laundry, shopping for food, making baby food (by 3 months my preemie was always hungry), etc. I ended up having no time to myself, at all. And I had so many home projects that needed to be done. I was able to get decent sleep after the baby was done teething…teething is another stage of a baby needing constant attention… they are so miserable. My boys were so physically active that crafts took place in minutes… a flash in the pan. As toddlers they were outside running and running… and watching them run again took me away from all my intended projects. You really get to know the local parks btw. Boys remind me of herding cats. And keep anything they can put into their mouths locked up. Because they will try to put everything into their mouths or into an electrical socket (scary stuff). So why do I mention all this? Because I wish someone had prepared me. BTW I loved having boys. By second grade they would read about atomic energy and build amazing things out of legos. We had an extensive wooden train set all over the living room floor. And there will be toys everywhere. First word spoken besides dada and mama was CAR. lol. Enjoy every minute!
