You guys, I was so happy to see all the positive comments on Friday's post about Project Life. Yay! I really love looking through my past albums.
There were two comments I wanted to address:
A question that came up a few times was about the photo printer I use: I have been using the same printer to print my photos for the last 10 years. Okay, that's a lie. I have been using the same brand of printer — this is my second Epson PictureMate in those 10 years.
This is the first one I had, this is the one I use now, and this appears to be the new version. In my opinion, the color quality is fantastic and it's pretty fast. The ink, however, is expensive. I think it works out to be the same price as sending your photos out to be developed, but I like being able to print at home, on demand.
The second comment is about the idea of Project Life being all about me. For some of you this struck a chord. I'm so glad. It's a decision I made at the beginning of 2012. By the end of 2012 my marriage was over and I was so glad that I had made the decision to focus on "me" instead of "us." The one thing I know I'll always have in my life is me! :)
In addition, I did get a question or two about getting photos of yourself. I lived alone for 4 of the 8 years I've been doing Project Life. Here are some of the ways I get photos of myself:
- I take a photo in the mirror.
- I hold the phone at arms length and snap a photo.
- I use a tripod and the camera app's built-in timer. (I have TWO tripods for my phone — one upstairs and one downstairs. I often travel with one of them as well.)
- I ask people to take my photo — friends, my Mom, strangers. No one has ever said no or run away with my phone.
Let's see how smart you are. These four photos demonstrate the four techniques I've listed above. Can you tell which is which?
I hope that answered some of your questions. I'm going to work on some more Project Life related posts — including how I approach the whole "catching up" thing.
Thanks for stopping by!

I always struggle with photos of myself, I need to take a few more.

Love this! I miss my picture mate so much, it became too hard to get the ink cartridges for my 235. I use a selphy now and it’s nowhere near as good – you can’t print onto anything except it’s own paper and it is a weird size. Thank you also for the reminder that I need to be in my own scrapbooks more.
