I belong to the Quilter's Connection guild, here in Massachusetts. The guild is hosting a day of quilt/art classes this Saturday (February 9). It's just $10 for the day — includes a morning class, an afternoon class, and a potluck lunch. Classes range from gelatin printing to Japanese Boro Stitch. You can see a full list here.
I'm teaching a class in the afternoon called "Instagram for Artists."
Here is the class description:
If you’re creative and you have a smart phone, you need to be on Instagram. It’s a wonderful resource for artistic inspiration. You can discover techniques and materials, artists to follow, classes to take, participate in challenges and contests, and share your work with others. In class we will cover all of the basics of using Instagram (no experience necessary) along with answering some frequently asked questions, like:
- What is a hashtag? And why would I use it?
- What's the difference between instagram stories and your instagram feed?
- And even, what's the point of instagram?
Instagram is a great place to grow your business, explore your hobby, and connect with other like-minded artists!
Materials List: Smart Phone with the Instagram app (FREE).
If you're interested in signing up for my class or any of the classes, email Carol Miller at WinterWorkshops@quiltersconnection.org.
Thanks for stopping by!

What a great idea for a class! Everybody (tech people) just assume that you know how to work a smart phone and all the apps that go with it. I myself haven’t quite figured out instagram stories and keep asking myself – do I really need to do stories? So far, the answer is no for me. But as a photographer – I LOVE postng to instagram.
