Art Journal Every Day: February 2018 Begins

from the Balzer Designs Blog: Art Journal Every Day #artjournal #artjournaleveryday

If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek.  Even if you're not on social media, you can see everything (from twitter, pinterest, instagram, and facebook) that uses that hashtag here.

Today I'm sharing three pages from daily art journal.  I go through phases with my art journal, as you know.  I have to confess that I don't love the pages from this period.  They feel kind of sad — and they might be.  My Dad had recently passed away and art is always an expression of how you feel.  Take a peek for yourself:

This is one of those lace pages that I love to cut!

Originally, I had intended to write on the black side, but I decided that I liked how clean the cut looked on top of a plain black background.  So, I left it alone!

2-Circles-wm
This is kind of a fun page.  The left side was not done by me.  It's a large envelope that was gifted to me by a student.  I bound it into my junque journal.  When I got to this page, I decided to try and match the left side so that a viewer wouldn't know the two pages had been created by two different people and years apart!  Can you tell?

I think it turned out super cool!

As you can see, the right-side of the page is short and scalloped.

I hope you enjoy these peeks into my art journal.  I always enjoy sharing!

Thanks for stopping by!
