For the first time in podcast history, Mom and I are in the same room to record this episode of the Adventures in Arting Podcast! I wonder if there's any difference in how the podcast feels? You'll have to let me know!

As mentioned on the podcast, I've got a bunch of teaching gigs coming up:
- August 31-September 2: 3 Classes at Whimsodoodle in Florida.
- September 22-23: I'll be at The Ink Pad in NYC.
- October 13-14: ScanNCut for Artists in the Boston area.
- November 2-4: co-teaching a 3-day class with Nat Kalbach in the UK
I hope to see you in class! Thanks for stopping by!

Julie, just listened to your podcast. Talk to your contractor as far as your studio sink and ask about having a sediment trapnput in on that sink. I am an art teacher in public school and our sinks have these. It helps especially with paints etc. He should be aware of these, and they can be used in home applications also. (Our sinks at school are just over size home types and we have them.) You do have to occasionally clean the traps. Hope this helps you out on your Reno.

Hi Julie, it is Friday now and you should finally be a home owner. How exciting! Fully enjoyed your podcast especially the discussion on your studio space. I, too, am in the process of designing my new studio space…what a lot of decisions. Mine will be in a separate building out back near the pastures. I went with several banks of windows so that I can stay connected to nature and bring in some natural light. I meet with my electrician today to design the lighting and where and how many electrical outlets I will need which I will have up higher than normal on the walls so I won’t have cords running across the floors and I won’t have to bend over to plug in. Just a few things you might think about. Then there is the color to paint the walls….I think I’m going with a very pale gray, something called White Pepper. On another note, Suzan and I won’t be seeing you in St Pete this time. She will be at her summer place and I will be busy with my new studio. Maybe next time.

P.S. Julie, how big would your big table be? Are you going to have open shelving your storage of paints and mediums? Gosh, so many things to think about…..
