This weekend, I was looking through photos and I realized that I had forgotten to share photos from the Urban Sketch Weekend back in April! It was a great weekend filled with super talented women. Each and every one of them entered the room swearing up and down that they couldn't draw. And yet each and every one of them proved to themselves that they could! It was magical. Take a peek:
We took a field trip to sketch at the Sheep Festival! (Of course, I was so enamored of the sheep that I forgot to take photos of most of the paintings the students made!)
We worked on color mixing.
We practiced different approaches to sketching.
We took a field trip to a coffee shop to sketch.
It was a great weekend and I will remind all of you that drawing is a practice. You can do it if you try!

I love them all, but especially the sheep and the spray bottle! It’s neat to see what everyone did. I used to draw all the time but seldom do any more – I keep telling myself I need to get back to it again – you have inspired me!

That was well worth the trip–I met some awesome women and Julie, you are an excellent teacher! I finished my first sketchbook and filled it with images from Boston (It was my first trip there). I am on my second sketchbook and just bought a third at Blick the other day, so definitely planning to continue. My only regret is that we didn’t get to meet your mom. 🙂
