I will be on HSN (Home Shopping Network) TODAY with the ScanNCut!

HSN
You can tune in online or watch on your TV.  There's also a live Facebook event coinciding with the two airings: during the 11am hour and the 6pm hour (EST).

Now, let's talk about what the ScanNCut can do!

Automatic Layout is an easily overlooked feature of your ScanNCut, but it shouldn't be.

SpaceSavingYouTube
What is Automatic Layout?

  • You are offered three options for how to automatically arrange the objects on the mat: maximum space saving, opposites, and all facing the same way.
  • Automatic layout allows you to maximize your materials by fitting the largest possible number of objects onto the mat.
  • It works with built-in designs, scanned images, and imported images.
  • The images can all be the same or all be different.

Watch the video for more:

As I often encourage you: push all the buttons on your machine!  I hope you'll happily use this function to make your ScanNCut workflow even easier!

As you can imagine, I get a lot of questions about the ScanNCut.  Some common questions are:

  • Can you make stencils with the ScanNCut?
  • How do you use ScanNCut Canvas?
  • Can you divide and weld objects in ScanNCut Canvas?
  • Can you do more advanced tutorials for ScanNCut Canvas?

I combined all four of those questions and came up with this tutorial video that shows you, step-by-step, how to create a rainbow stencil design in ScanNCut Canvas.

Using this technique, you can create a rainbow — or a number of other complex designs!  I took that rainbow and made a stencil and then made this artwork with that stencil: Art-wm

Isn't that rainbow shape super cool?!

Cork Fabric is a cool new textile that is cropping up everywhere!  It's not the cork rolls you're used to.

Traditional cork (on the left) crumbles and breaks when you fold or bend it.  Cork Fabric (on the right) is considered a sustainable alternative to leather.  It can be washed, sewn, and it cuts beautifully with the ScanNCut!  Watch the video for the how to:

Check out these teeny tiny detail cuts!

Super fun, right?!

I didn't get all the fuss over cork fabric until I started playing with it.  Now I'm a believer!

Last but not least, let's make a monogram!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • Love your tips concerning the Scan n Cut and Scan n Cut Canvas. Your mats look well used and yet they always seem to be very sticky. What do you do to keep them sticky. Mine loose there stick very quickly and even though I try to clean them with alcohol free baby wipes the stick never comes back enough to hold my materials in place.
