When I sat down to write this post, I realized that I had almost 200 different stamps bookmarked that I wanted to share with you. There are just so many talented people out there doing amazing things! I decided that I had to limit myself and so I limited myself to 115 images and I've broken those into 5 blog posts, roughly categorized as people, animals, nature, pattern, and miscellaneous. 115 images is not enough, people!!! If you like what you see, do yourself a favor and get lost in the #CarveDecember hashtag. There are videos and conversations and tips and ideas and so much more!
Today we're kicking things off in the miscellaneous category. Do me a favor and read the artist's caption as you look at the art. There is often lots of interesting information to be gleaned!
I see so many good ideas in these photos. Just a few that I'm thinking of right now:
- An alphabet is always a good use of rubber!
- Print on ready made fabric objects, like bags and aprons!
- Dedicate a book/journal to stamping and fill it with stamped images!
- Stamp or paint the background and then print on top of it.
- Print on brown paper.
- Print on ceramic!
- Eyes really go with everything. 😉
What ideas are you getting from these photos?
Thanks for stopping by!

Fabulous – thank you for sharing – looking forward to the next grouping. I once carved an alphabet set and someone saw me and asked why I was carving a set when I could buy it already done at a store. Obviously they missed the whole point of hand carving. Thank you Julie!

Great dirst day collection! The train is crazy amazing. I love the idea of carving images of favorite movie/tv icons that you can’t get anywhere. Like the Star Wars rebel stamp. Games of Thrones… I just need to practice more to be able to do it!

How do you store all these little stamps so you can easily find them again?

Thank you for showing my alphabet stamps here, Julie! Carvedecember was so much fun for me again (even if the very last stamp is not finished yet 🙂 )
Thank you for sharing your creative life with us.

At our house, my husband is more of the stamp carver. We have been doing this for years. Storing arts and crafts is always a challenge. I like them stored flat so you can see them. A small pizza style box is perfect. They can be cardboard or plastic. And stack on top of each other easily.

Dear Julie, thank you for sharing all the amazing work from Carve December and including my humble contribution as well.I love discovering artists through your challenges. This year is the third year that i joined Carve December. And i am proud to have completed 24 stamps in total. (Actually i do not really carve but rather cut and shape foam with heat) I waited eagerly for the challenge to start.Thank you for not skipping it despite your loss.I am an avid reader of your blog, you continue to inspire me daily and inject your life energy :)This year my stamps were inspired by traditional Turkish china patterns. And i tried them on bisque plates. Next is textile printing. Our ceramic class is planning to order new aprons and we will print on them. How cool is that? Here is to a new year filled with creative experiments 🙂
