In today's podcast Mom and I chat about super secret confidential craft projects, my art class at the Museum of Fine Arts, visiting MoMA, creating an art schedule, and so much more!

If you do not see the podcast player above, please click on this link.  You can listen to a podcast anywhere and at any time.  It is a recording that is available to you whenever you'd like to listen.  If you'd like to download it to your iTunes library, click here.  You can also pause and rewind or fast forward as you desire.  I like to listen to podcasts while I'm making art.  It's a little like hanging out with friends while you art.  Please subscribe to our podcast in iTunes or wherever you listen and be sure to leave us a review!  Thanks so much!

And finally, as I mentioned on the podcast, if you're in Massachusetts and want to do a bit of bargain shopping, come by the Quilter's Connection Yard Sale on October 21.  I'll be there from 10am-4pm chatting and demo-ing.

  • Dear Celebrity!!! Wish I lived in Massachusetts – I would stop by and get your autograph! Love your podcast – it usually coincides with my weekly art day so I create and listen to words of wisdom from you and your Mom. Yes, I agree with you that taking classes is wonderful. • OMG, you’re coming to O-H-I-O!!!! If you don’t know what that means, ask when you get here. I can’t wait to hear how the class goes. I had never heard of the Crow Barn and it’s only 20 minutes away!!! I live in Columbus. So wish you were teaching classes, but it will be so nice to have this time for yourself.

  • Julie, I was listening to your pod cast about your upcoming workshop with Nancy Crow. I have taken classes with her and she is fantastic. You are a talented woman and you’ll do fine. Nancy really founded the ‘art quilt’ movement and was instrumental in creating QSDS Quilt Surface Design Symposium, though I don’t know if she is still involved. You would love that too…it is usually held at the Columbus School of Art and Design. I took class at QSDS for years and the teaching from it and Nancy IS college level. Wonderful that you are going to the barn. It is beautiful, the setting is too. You are going to have a great experience. Looking forward to reading your experiences. And yes, I had to gather 100 yards of fabric…in a gradation of each color.

  • Hi Julie. I have only just managed to listen to your podcast. I’m a longarm quilter, and the machine is rather loud, so I have to get organised with a charged earpiece in advance. So jealous of your Betty Busby class. I spent 2 days with her at Symposium in New Zealand 2 years ago (I think). Loved it. 5 days would be awesome. Good luck at the Crow Barn. I’m off to Seth Apter in Australia next year, and looking forward to it. Thanks for the chat. Helen.
