It's so easy to get lost in a YouTube rabbit hole!  I go looking for one thing and end up sitting for hours — mesmerized by people's creativity and generosity (sharing for free!).  Here are two videos that I found particularly interesting and I thought you might too!

First up, this video from Jane Davies on creating more interest in a color field:

And here is one from Bob Burridge about adding charcoal on top of acrylic (a technique that I've been loving doing recently):

Hope you find the videos inspiring! Thanks for stopping by!

  • Thanks for the great artist turn-ons, Julie! I watched several of their videos on YouTube and am now following them. (YouTube artist videos are addicting!) I loved watching Bob’s open, intuitive style.
I had a watercolor workshop with an artist a few years ago in CA that was done completely with a medium size Chinese brush. He taught a similar way to make people. He had a lot of really cool techniques and very free way of painting, too. (His name is Robert Dvorak from Pacifica, CA and he teaches workshops all over the West (and annual classes in HI and the Greek Islands)
Both of these videos were helpful and inspirational. And….your painting turned out great!
