Art Journal Every Day: Unifying a Page in Fast Forward Video

from the Balzer Designs Blog: Art Journal Every Day #artjournal #artjournaleveryday

If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek.  Even if you're not on social media, you can see everything (from twitter, pinterest, instagram, and facebook) that uses that hashtag here.

As you know, I work on art journal pages in stages, over time.  As a result, before I begin to work on a page in earnest, I need to find a way to unify it — to make all the disparate layers and ideas work together.

In this video I share a fast forward peek at that process of unifying:

Do you find the differences between the before and after subtle or obvious?

  • Love your art and your helpful videos and podcasts!. I just received my order of 3 ARTFOAMIE stamps and I love them!!! I had the best time playing with them. It is amazing that I did not stamp my husband as I was stamping everything in sight 😉 They gave me so much pleasure and instant gratification. Seeing this video this morning was just what I needed as to how to tie in all of the stamping I did to make it look good instead of all over the place 😉 I look forward to adding more ARTFOAMIES to my collection. So much fun!! Thank you Julie for all that you offer in such a relaxed manner.

  • Thanks, Julie! I feel like this post is the missing link for me 😉 I was trying to really understand how you went from those unfinished pages to the end state (with journaling) and just wasn’t getting it! But, boom! Just like that, you bridged the gap. Love your art!
