One last Easter craft for you today!  In order to gift my Easter eggs, I used my ScanNCut to make some super cute paper boxes just the right size for eggs.  Check them out:

I tried putting the bunny box inside of the bird cage box…

…but it looked too much like a bunny in jail.

All the box designs are from this USB.  To make them more mixed media, you could use hand painted paper instead of commercial scrapbooking paper or you could cut them from watercolor paper and then decorate the paper afterwards!

I have to confess that when I give gifts, I tend to stay away from my normal aggressively painted and patterned Julie style and go with a safer and more generally likable style of creating.  Anyone else do that?

Thanks for stopping by!

  • Hello Julie,
Love your gift boxes. I too do the same as you go with a safer more generally likable style of creating.
I have the 3D collection usb. I love it. I have made several of the boxes and envelopes. I too used commercial pretty paper to make them.
I have also made several of the Brother Creative Center projects too. I like them. They worked great with my Brother scanncut.
I also made an Easter basket by using my scanncut and Crafter’s Companion Big Board and Ultimate tool. I like to combine tools and make one project.
I also have been learning how to use InkScape to make SVG files. I have made two one with the basic shapes a star and the words Merry Christmas. The star worked but I ditched the Merry Christmas. We have one in the scanncut anyway. I have a few sentiments that I will be creating with InkScape.
Hope you have a happy Wednesday. You will be going to Aussie Land pretty soon. I wish I could hop in your suit case.
    Always your friend,

  • I like all of them, Julie! They are fantastic! The purple one with a bird is the most appealing to me. It’s my favorite color, you know. I’d love to make such a box too. The butterfly box looks also so fashionable and lovely.

  • Hi Julie, I love your Scan n Cut2 Tutorials. You make the machine appealing and i know i will use my machine due to your inspiration. i have about 250 Silhouette cut files sitting on my hard drive that need to be transferred to my Scan N Cut 2.
i would love a tutorial re: how to get those transferred to Canvas.
A tutorial re: different types of papers and blades showing test cutting and use of proper mats would be very useful as well. I need to go through all my papers and do test cuts to create a key for blade depth, pressure and proper mat and any tutorials about that would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
