Before today's post, I just wanted to mention that I joined Periscope over the weekend and did my first few broadcasts live from CHA. I'm having fun answering questions and doing demos. My username is balzerdesigns if you'd like to follow me! :)

When I taught at A Work of Heart in San Jose, store owner Andrea introduced me to Doodle Stix. Watch the video for my explorations:
And here are some of the prints from the video:
Have you tried the Doodle Stix? What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by!
Great post! I have been enjoying your Periscopes from CHA…love your enthusiasm. I also use them for applying Frisket for watercoloring. The Frisket wipes right off of the silicone.

These tools are great for applying masking fluid to paper because they clean up so well and don’t flatten out so you can get a nice thin line.

I use Doodle Stix and their cousins, Color Shapers, all the time. They are great for Gelli, but also for making paste paper designs, smoothing out polymer clay, and I have even dipped them in ink occasionally. The Color Shapers are quite expensive, but come in range of sizes and softness that adds to their usefulness.

Those look like Mini Color Shapers – I got the minis because they were cheaper than the regular ones, and I wanted them for working with small (itty bitty) details on polymer clay work. I hadn’t thought to use them on the gelli plate. Thanks!
