Today's Art Journal Every Day post is all about an awesome drying rack solution that I stole from Andrea, the owner of A Work of Heart in San Jose. If you're at all like me, most art journaling sessions end up taking place in a smaller and smaller amount of space because you're using the rest of your desk space for drying things. Well, that no longer has to be true! If you've got clothespins and a drying rack, you're in luck!

There's lots of room for hanging a ton of gelli prints or other painted papers you need to dry.
Even little stuff like tags:
Or how about wet stencils? You can hang them…
…or simply rest them on the rack!
I'm thrilled and delighted with my new drying space — which quickly and easily folds up when I don't need it. Plus, with my desk freed up, I've got loads of space for working! My papers aren't all stuck together and I can actually find things! It's amazing!

There is a couch next to my art table. I lay a huge plastic sheet on it (it is actually a painter’s plastic sheet:) and i put my wet media on it. When i am done with art work i carry this plastic sheet onto the dining table (the biggest empty surface in the house) and let everything dry there over night:)

Love the drying rack, perfect if you have the space for one. I use heavy fishing line strung between some small command hooks on the wall
and over the top of my overhead workstation bins; clip wet papers on with large pinch clips.

My Dad built a wall rack with shelves for me to store my stamps on. I just put in some nails to both sides, strung some thin rope and use the baby sized clothes pins (from a craft store). It holds tons (even the wet wipes that end up looking like art).

Julie, thanks for the idea about the drying rack. I need a new one, so I just ordered it from Amazon. I can use it for art and clothes! Just have to get more clothespins. All the best in your new location, too.

What a clever idea…I have a small cloths line across my window to for drying…but this would be so nice to have if I had the floor space…but I love this …and you could always just close it up …still might do this…thanks for sharing…

Oh such yummy pages on your drying rack Julie, can I come over to play too? I have NO room for such rack. I paint 2-3 papers at a time and dry them on top of the trash bin so they won’t stain the floor… hehe.

What an excellent idea! Last time daughter and I decided to do some gelli printing, we had every inch of her large kitchen counters covered in prints. This is way better. Thanks for sharing.

I use a sweater drying rack and stretch it out over he laundry tub, and I also have a clothes line outside on the patio that I use, but your’s is a great one. We all have to get creative. I also just bought a Christmas Card holder that I believe I will keep up all year round and attach wet media to it for drying.
