The quilt journey continues!  If you're feeling inspired to start quilting may I suggest you find your local quilt guild.  One of the first things I did when I moved to the Boston area was join my local guild.  A google search should bring up the possibilities in your neighborhood.  Also, the Modern Quilt Guild has many branches all across the world and SAQA exists online.  If there's nothing near you, may I suggest my all time favorite quilting instruction book.

And now without any further ado, some more eye candy….

Are you overwhelmed with all the amazing color, texture, pattern, and creativity?  It's funny.  I saw all of these quilts in person, but editing the photos, I could swear there are some I'm seeing for the first time.  I think it's sensory overload or something like that.  Just too much to take in all at once!

I'll be back tomorrow with the final installment of quilts from Quilt Festival!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • OMG! The hands, the purple-ish tree branches, the gorilla, the Eiffel Tower, I could go on! And one of them looks a lot like you Julie. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours (hello Eileen) and thanks so much for sharing your photos.

  • Wow, these are truly amazing. I am struck by the variety of styles, the texture from the thread patterns, the colors of the fabrics and how they combine, and the incredible amount of patience it must take to create these. And, how do people see it in their minds so clearly before it’s created? I mean you would have to, right?

  • I am fascinated by the subject matter that they chose. Somehow a deep reflection on our lives today no doubt. And the need to represent photography and pixels through quilting. Not sure about that, but quite a feat no less. The bird quilt…so gorgeous and many others are jaw dropping. Such talent!
