In today's podcast Mom and I have three conversations (recorded September 1, September 16, and September 27) about the big move to Boston. We discuss the practicalities of purging the studio, moving it, and my hopes for my business after the move. I hope you enjoy it!

Awesome podcast!! Our family has moved 8 times in the past 31 years and there is no doubt about it – the process just sucks in so many ways. That’s not to say that it isn’t also good for you though – the purging, the reminiscing, the letting go, the fresh start, etc. – but it’s not easy for sure. Thank you, Julie, for being open and vulnerable about the feelings coming up in the process. I felt them too each and every time we moved. Thank you to your Mom for validating many of those feelings and convincing you to shift the negative perspective you had about some things and acknowledging that it’s been part of your life. It’s all been part of your life’s scrapbook. Since I’ve still been carrying around some of the emotional baggage that comes with moving, it was very helpful to me to hear this podcast. I appreciate you both taking time out of the packing/moving process to create it. I wish you the best of luck with your moving to the Boston area. If I were still there, I’d be absolutely thrilled to have you – but, alas, that was where my last move originated from. Thank you, Julie, for being open and vulnerable about the feelings coming up in the process. I felt them too each and every time we moved. Thank you to your Mom for validating many of those feelings and convincing you to shift the negative perspective you had about some things and acknowledging that it’s been part of your life. It’s all been part of your life’s scrapbook. Since I’ve still been carrying around some of the emotional baggage that comes with moving, it was very helpful to me to hear this podcast. I appreciate you both taking time out of the packing/moving process to create it. I wish you the best of luck with your moving to the Boston area. After separating from my husband & moving into my own apartment 3 weeks ago, I started going thru all the boxes I had packed 7 years ago,(long story), with the stuff I would 1 day enjoy…ha! Most of it went to Goodwill. It’s quite an odd feeling, really, to view oneself in “things…” Now I am moving my studio, & realize that if I want to get back to who I truly am, I must shed most of it… It’s been extremely difficult at times because I am being forced to allow parts of me to die, as well as resurrect those pieces of myself that have gotten buried under the “clutter.” I’m finding myself DARING MYSELF to be rid of it all, & to start again, naked, so to speak… it’s a good kind of scary.
