Art Journal Every Day: Beginning of June 2015

from the Balzer Designs Blog: Art Journal Every DayIf you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  There is a flickr group for sharing right here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it.  If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post.  Thanks!

Helloooooooo!  Today I'm sharing a few pages from my daily art journal.  I'm feeling the summer heat and I think my pages reflect that kind of warm languid feeling.

I cut out a bunch of butterflies with my ScanNCut for another project.  The paper I cut them out from was so pretty, I couldn't waste it!  I decided to use it as a little page in my art journal.

Note the tab on the side…

If only it were that easy to turn the pages of time, right?

This next page also uses some ScanNCut leftovers.

I tend to think of electronic cuts as being for cards or scrapbook pages, but they really do look great in my art journal!

This cut looks like I painted it, but it's pretty scrapbook paper!

I used gold foil in the spaces behind the lacy cut.  I love the bit of shine and flash it adds!

  • I just love your pages! I stop by your blog all the time and although I do not do all of the art styles or craft styles that you do, I always seem to find something inspiring or useful in my own art. Thank you for sharing.

  • Really gorgeous pages! Do you carve stamps just for an art journal, or use already carved stamps? Thinking of the quote; can’t tell if it is carved all as one piece, or made with an alphabet.
