The pages that I'm sharing this week are all united by my ongoing love affair with people. I don't know why, but I can't stop including them in my journals. I think almost all of my favorite art journal pages have faces or figures or eyes on them.
I shared the technique I used for creating this silhouetted figure in this blog post several months ago.
My favorite black ink pad is the Ranger Archival Ink Pad. I re-ink it frequently to make sure I get nice dark black impressions.
The main image is a painting by Picasso that I culled from a calendar and embellished.
I used white Unicorn ink for the "Saturday" and the stamped dashes. The "Sunday" was done with a white Sharpie. You can see the difference in the quality of the whites. I still think the Unicorn ink pad is the best white ink pad out there, but it's not quite as bright white as a pen or using embossing powder.
I will never tire of using stencils in my art journal! They're still the quickest and easiest way to add pattern and shape to my pages!
All of the large text on this page was pulled from a podcast I listened to. It was an interview with the author of a book called, Spinster: Making a Life of One's Own.
I've been in a bit of a gold frenzy lately. Can't get enough of adding some shine to my pages!
Another page with no journaling. The stenciled text gives the impression of writing, which I like.
More gold!
It's a little bigger than my real head, but not a bad alternative. ;)
