Art Journal Every Day: Dailies from the beginning of October

ArtJournalEveryDayLogo-150If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  There is a flickr group for sharing right here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it.  If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post.  Thanks!

Happy Friday!  I'm planning a very boring stay-in-my-pajamas-and-make-things kind of weekend.  I hope you have more glamorous weekend plans!  Today I'm sharing some of my daily art journal pages from October.  (I am way behind in sharing my pages!)  Enjoy!

1-blackandwhite-wm

Every now and then I *must* do a black and white page in my art journal.  I love how graphic black and white is.

1-heartdetail-wm

Okay, so you caught me.  I cheated a little on the black and white with this red heart that I stuck in the square hole in my page.  Because I use a Junque Journal (created from already used stuff), I often have holes in my pages. I love to find interesting ways to use them!

1-detail-wm

The bright white is embossing powder (used on hand carved stamps, of course).  The lighter white is a marker, scribbled onto a hand carved stamp, and then printed.

And here's the back of that heart!

2-detaillettering-wm

I'm using a lot of opaque gel pens for lettering in my journal these days.

2-detailred-wm

Lots more handcarved stamps!

2-detailthermofax-wm

This is a test print of a thermofax screen I designed.  I'm currently obsessed with eyes.

3-yellowtrianglepage-wm

3-detailface-wm

This is a much smaller face than I usually paint and it was surprisingly tough to work so small.

3-detailflowertag-wm

Another series of Thermofax test prints.

3-detaillettering-wm

I'm currently obsessed with creating block letters with serifs!

So there you go, a peek into my art journal.  Have a great weekend!

  • Your journal pages are amazing, as always. I love your art! What is the size of your page (s)? Are your journal pages one sheet of paper folded in half, or single sheets? Thank You.

  • I love that you post lovely pages from your journal and with regardless of when you created them. It seems like some blogs do trendy projects solely for the purpose of posting and attracting clicks and the product is quickly discarded.
You also mentioned you don’t have formal art training, what is your training and background in?
